The internet is a good place to share your ideas about the topics that you really like. One way to do this is by making a webshow. Now, the World Wide Web is not just a place for adults, but for children as well. A webshow can also benefit young actors, although it may take some time and effort to make a webshow of their own. On the other hand, there are several reasons to think about on why you should start making a webshow of your own.

One of these reasons is that making a webshow can hone your acting skills from home. It is a fact that can’t always have a chance to perform on stage or in theatres. However, as long as there’s a video camera and a computer, you can develop your performing and acting skills at home through making a webshow. This will also give you the chance to overcome your fears when performing on stage and boost your confidence that you can act very well.

Another benefit of making a webshow is that it gives you the opportunity to improve your oration. A webshow can help you realize your manner of speaking and this awareness can give you the chance to make changes in your oration and remove the unnecessary lingo such as “uh”, “like” and “um”.

Developing a webshow can also help you to make a certain brand- the image you project to the world that you can share with talent scouts and fans. Through making a webshow, you can also develop your direction as well as production skills. Making a webshow will allow you to gradually improve your skills in directing, allowing you to see your own performances than if you’re just a simple actor.

Since you are developing your own webshow, you will also improve your computer skills along with it. In order for you to create and promote the webshow you’ve made, you have to learn several computer skills. These skills can include video editing, photo editing, SEO or search engine optimization and web development that can definitely help you as a performer and greatly influence your future career. These skills can also make you an incredibly sought-after professional on a larger scale than just performing.

Having a good webshow will also allow you to start including its link in your resume when going for auditions and try-outs. Your webshow will give the producer a more comprehensive picture of you as a good performer. You can also send the link of your webshow to agents, producers and directors as a part of your e-mail if you want to be noticed by people in other areas. Most importantly, the internet is an excellent way to show your talent to other people around the world. If the right person sees your webshow, then you could become the next superstar.

Now that you have known some of the reasons why you should make a webshow, will you not be interested to make one? Go and make your own webshow now!

It’s
hard to transition from a child singer to a successful adult star.
Between the money, the pressure and the temptations of a star-studded
young life, many successful child stars become burned out or washed up
by the time they reach their twenties. It takes tenacity, a love of
music and a solid support system to overcome the challenges of early
fame. Check out some current adult stars who have remained at the
forefront of the music industry despite personal and professional
struggles along the way.

Justin
Timberlake

Justin
Timberlake became a teenage heartthrob as a performer in ‘N
Sync, but his career started even earlier than that, as a star on the
Disney Channel’s The New Mickey Mouse Club, where he met
fellow young stars JC Chasez, Christina Aguilera and Brittany Spears.
In 2002, after gaining a huge following amongst teenage girls, Justin
Timberlake released his first album, Justified. In 2006 his album
Future/LoveSounds debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart.
Justin Timberlake’s personal life has always made headlines,
with links to Brittany Spears, Cameron Diaz and Jessica Biel, but a
strong family life and a close relationship with his mom has helped
keep his career on track.

Christina
Aguilera

Like
Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera made her first foray into stardom
as a performer on The New Mickey Mouse Club, but her first album was
released in 1999 to significant commercial success, including three
number one hit singles. She released two more albums before parting
ways with her management company and taking control of her own music.
It was a good move, too, because her 2002 album, Stripped, and her 2006
album, Back to Basics, both featured singles that kept her in the
limelight despite controversy over her personal appearance and personal
life. Recent years have been filled with ups and downs –
she’s made it as a judge on The Voice, but has also dealt
with divorce and box office flops – but her clear
self-acceptance and talent has enabled her to remain popular despite
the naysayers.

Brittany
Spears

It
seems like whatever music Brittany Spears touches, it turns to
gold…or platinum (if we’re talking about albums and
singles). But, like Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera, this
former Mickey Mouse Club star hasn’t always had it easy.
After numerous number one albums and songs, Brittany Spears appeared to
crack under the fame and pressure, shaving her head in public, having
her children taken out of her care and undergoing court-ordered
treatment. Luckily, she took a step away from showbiz for awhile, and
with the conservatorship of her father, she got her personal life back
on track. Since then she’s released several more albums, each
featuring number one singles.

Everyone can sing, but not
everyone can sing well, especially as a child. Becoming a child singer
takes time, practice, determination and natural ability, and if you
want to be successful, you have to really commit to the task at hand.
Here are a few ways to get started as a child singer:

Join a choir

Joining a choir is
a great way to hone your singing ability as part of a group. You will
have the opportunity to learn about music, scales and harmonization,
and you’ll be given the chance to practice and perform on a
regular basis. Being part of a choir is also a great way to discover
your strengths and weaknesses as a singer, enhancing your strengths and
working on your weaknesses within the relative safety of a larger
group. As you develop your skills, you may even be asked to perform
solos or work as part of a smaller singing group.

There
are lots of choirs you could join as a child – schools,
churches and city arts programs often sponsor children’s
choirs, so ask your parents to help you find a reputable choir within
your area.

Take singing lessons

When you learn an
instrument, one of the best ways to learn is to take lessons, and
it’s no different when you want to become a singer. Think of
your voice as an instrument. Just because it’s a part of you,
doesn’t mean you automatically know how to use it to the best
of your ability. Singing instructors can give you specific, one-on-one
instruction designed to help you hone and manipulate your voice. Even
singers with a vast amount of natural talent can benefit from singing
lessons because instructors know how to push a singer’s
talents even farther.

Look for opportunities to
perform

Being
a child singer requires much more than simply singing. You have to be
able to perform in front of a crowd, and in some cases, you may need to
play an instrument, dance or engage the crowd at the same time. If
you’ve ever watched American
Idol
or The
Voice,
you know that singers who are comfortable performing are the ones who
usually go the farthest. So, sign up for talent shows and offer to sing
at retirement homes every chance you get. And, record your
performances. You can watch them back and identify areas of improvement
which will only serve to take your skill to the next level.

Send out demos

When
you feel you’re truly ready, post a few videos of yourself
singing online and start sending out demo tapes to recording studios.
It’s a rough business that’s filled with rejection,
so prepare yourself for a few “no’s,” but
don’t let that stop you from trying.

Beautiful
and talented country crooner (Taylor Swift) developed a huge fan base by
connecting with her MySpace followers early on in her career.

Unlike
stars of the past, Taylor Swift decided to harness the personal
relationships she could build with her fans online and use them to her
advantage. She checked in daily with fans and shared intimate parts of
her life through her music. This type of personal relationship can be
tricky, but ultimately she developed a fan base that was invested in
her music and her life, and those are the fans that can last a
lifetime.
Black

Rebecca
Black’s “Friday” music video and song was
released on YouTube and iTunes in February 2011, and it went
“viral” in March, just a month later. While most of
the attention was negative, there’s no denying that the media
has been good for Rebecca Black’s career. Not only did she
shoot to infamy overnight, she’s performed on The Tonight
Show with Jay Leno, hosted MTV’s first online awards show and
appeared in a Katy Perry music video.

Adele

Adele
wasn’t planning on becoming a singing sensation. In fact, she
intended to work on the other side of the business, helping launch
other people’s careers. But, fate had something else in
store. After recording a demo as part of a school project, her friend
posted the demo to MySpace where it became a huge hit. It was only a
matter of time before a music label reached out to her and signed her
as a solo artist, and the rest is history.

Justin
Bieber

It’s
hard to believe that Justin Bieber has only been on the music scene for
about three years. It was in 2008 that Scooter Braun found
Bieber’s video clips on YouTube and arranged a meeting
between Bieber and Usher. With Usher’s support, Bieber was
signed to Raymond Braun Media Group and a recording contract with
Island Records. Justin Bieber’s YouTube start led to the
release of his first album in 2009, which quickly went platinum in the
United States.

Lily Allen

This UK alternative pop singer didn’t get her first recording contract until after launching her career on the popular social media website, MySpace. Like other artists who earned their following online, Lily’s fame rose quickly, and her first mainstream single “Smile” rose to the top of the UK Singles Chart by July of 2006. In addition to releasing two popular albums, the singer now owns a fashion rental shop with her sister and has launched her own record label.

of the best parts about growing up in the ‘10s is that almost

shows! So, whether you just want to play a few online games, or you
want to Tweet to your favorite child actors, you have instant access in
ways that have never before been possible. Check out a few of our
favorite websites for games, web shows and more!

Cartoon

The
Cartoon Network website provides a virtual kid-paradise of games and
interaction. With 258 online games like Live Fire, Conqueror of All
Worlds and School House Rush, you can team up with other kids from
across the globe to enjoy animated fun. You can also talk about the
latest CN episodes in the Cartoon Network forums and even watch your
favorite cartoons online for free!

Nickelodeon

Like
the Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon offers tons of games and fun
interactive features for kids to get involved with. And, also like the
Cartoon Network, many of their games are based off their most popular
shows and movies, like SpongeBob
SquarePants and Kung
Fu Panda. Unlike the Cartoon
Network, though, Nickelodeon offers a music page that allows users to
check out the latest hits by Nickelodeon stars like iCarly and Victoria
Justice. Plus, they also offer The Club, an online virtual world for
kids where you can join a club, create an avatar and participate in a
virtual reality world with your friends and other users.

iCarly

If
you love the show iCarly,

Carly (<span

and Sam (Jennette McCurdy),
you can upload your own photos and webshows to the site, sharing them
with other iCarly
fans. The coolest part is that some of these uploaded videos are
actually featured on the real iCarly

Discovery Kids

The Discovery Channel is known for its education content, and the Discovery Kids website is no different. With fun games, online puzzles, activity ideas and even quizzes, kids can expand their brains while also having loads of fun!

Long before today’s favorite Nickelodeon shows like iCarly and How to Rock hit the scene, the network was creating shows designed to help launch child actors into long-term stars. Check out a few of the most popular actresses who made their breakout debuts on Nickelodeon:

Joanna Garcia: Joanna Garcia has had a long and successful TV career, starring in sitcoms like Reba, Party of Five, Freaks & Geeks, Privileged and Better with You. She’s also had guest roles on How I Met Your Mother, Gossip Girl and Royal Pains, just to name a few. But, it all started on Nickelodeon in 1994 when she starred as Samantha in the popular series, Are You Afraid of the Dark? As part of The Midnight Society.

Elisha Cuthbert: Elisha Cuthbert may currently be starring as a stand-out funny-girl on the sitcom Happy Endings, but that’s just the icing on a cake full of acting experience that started with Nickelodeon. In 1999 Elisha Cuthbert played a small part on Nickelodeon’s re-vamped Are You Afraid of the Dark? series, but parlayed her small role into a recurring one. She went on to star as Jack Bauer’s daughter in the mega-hit 24 while picking up a multitude of film roles as well, including parts in Old School, The Girl Next Door and House of Wax.

Melissa Joan Hart: What Miranda Cosgrove is to the current generation of tweens and teens, Melissa Joan Hart was to the kids of the ‘90s. She got her first big break as the lead actress on Nickelodeon’s Clarissa Explains It All. During the show’s four year run she was nominated for four Young Artist Awards, winning three of them. After Clarissa Explains It All was cancelled, she landed the leading role in Sabrina, The Teenage Witch, a show that ran for eight seasons. Not sure you’ve seen her in anything? Tune in to ABC Family where she currently stars in the sitcom Melissa & Joey.

Nick Cannon

You may know Nick Cannon as Mariah Carey’s husband and the America’s Got Talent host, but Nick Cannon’s career actually started on the Nickelodeon show, All That, way back in 1998. It didn’t take long for producers to realize they had a star on their hands, and by 2002 he starred in the The Nick Cannon Show, also on Nickelodeon. The rest is history as his career has spanned everything from TV and music to starring on the big screen in movies like Drumline, Monster House and The Killing Room.

Miranda Cosgrove and her friends on the TV show iCarly achieved almost instant fame when their webshow, iCarly, took off overnight. But is that kind of instant-fame attainable in the real world? Maybe, maybe not. There are millions upon millions of people online every day, and it usually takes a lot of hard work and effort to get the kind of following that the iCarly webshow is based on, but you can take hints from the show to better your chances of being an “instant” success.

Be yourself

The webshow iCarly took off overnight when characters Carly and Sam (played by Miranda Cosgrove and Jennette McCurdy) were goofing off and kidding around while being filmed without their knowledge. Their candid interaction was real, which resonated with their viewers. The show may be fictional, but being yourself is an important part of achieving success online. You have something to offer that no one else has – your personality, your sense of humor, your view of the world. When you embrace what you have to offer, the world’s more likely to embrace it as well.

Team up

Miranda Cosgrove’s character, Carly Shay, may be the star of iCarly, but she wouldn’t have a show without help from her friends! You probably have a lot of great ideas of your own, but chances are your friends have some great ideas, too. Team up and use one another’s talents to maximize the potential of your webshow. If you have a friend who’s a great artist, see if she’ll help create sets for your show. If you have a friend who’s a great singer or musician, see if he’ll perform or play background music. You want your show to be high-quality and full of great content, and it’ll be a whole lot easier to succeed if you have supportive and talented friends surrounding you.

Engage your audience

You want to be more than a one-hit-wonder, and to keep your audience coming back for more, it’s important that you engage them in the process. If you’re posting your videos on a venue where viewers can leave comments, be sure to ask questions, request feedback and tell people to share your posts. The more you engage them, the more they’ll respond, so think of your webshow as a conversation starter for your audience!

There
may be a point in your career where you have the opportunity to
specialize in a particular type of performance, but you’ll
have more success as a kid if you can develop skills in a variety of
areas. Just think about your favorite stars – most of them
can sing, dance, play an instrument and act, so it’s
important that you try to develop the same types of skills. Use these
tips to become a triple threat performer.

Try
New Things

Just
because you play the saxophone at school, doesn’t mean
you shouldn’t try to learn other instruments as well. See if
you can take piano or guitar lessons, or maybe even ask your band
director if you can learn two instruments, alternating between practice
times. Just because most people focus on a single instrument,
doesn’t mean you have to, too. This same principle applies
across performance skill sets as well. You may not be able to enlist in
band, theater and choir at school, but you could take band at school,
join your church’s choir and sign up for the community
theater program during the summer. Not only will trying new things
expand your talent and abilities, it will also help you figure out what
types of performance you enjoy the most.

Think
Outside the Box

Performing
and singing on stage may be your ultimate goal, but
sometimes the best way to make yourself stand out from the crowd is to
develop a skill in a niche field that not many people try. For
instance, you may want to take a class in ventriloquism, set design or
African dance. Chances are most of your friends will be focused on more
“popular” forms of performance art, so developing
these outside-the-box skills will give you an edge when trying out for
roles.

Take
it to the Stage

It’s
one thing to take lessons and try new things,
it’s another to get on stage and perform. Young actors,
singers and dancers should perform every chance they can get. Join
local talent shows, sing in front of friends and family, record
yourself and make short films or video clips to post online.
Don’t just perform the skills you’re most confident
about, perform them all! If you don’t actually take the time
to get real performances under your belt, you’ll never be
able to identify areas that need improvement. The real triple threats
are those actors who can fearlessly perform a number of skills at the
drop of a hat.

Develop
social graces

When
you’re just starting out, it doesn’t matter how
talented you are, if you have bad manners, are disrespectful or
arrogant, you’re going to rub people the wrong way and could
hurt your chances of landing a role. Learn proper etiquette and always
remember to say “please,” “thank
you,” and to acknowledge the efforts that others have gone to
to help you achieve your goals. This may seem like it should be a minor
factor, but in today’s world, you’d be surprised
how far a good attitude and good manners can take you.

Creating your own web show may sound like a lot of fun, but it takes more than a camera and an internet connection to create a great show. Use these quick tips to learn how to brainstorm ideas for your next video clip.

What do you know?

Everyone’s an expert on something, and that includes kids, too! Spend some time writing down all the subjects you know a lot about. Maybe you’ve read a lot of books on sharks, or you spent your summer performing and singing on stage. If you think you know something that other kids would like to learn, include it on your list. It’s always better to put together a web show about the things you know than to putt together a web show about popular subjects you don’t know much about.

Using the examples above, consider the following video clip ideas:

If you’ve read a lot of books on sharks, you could put together an educational series on the most dangerous sharks, or how to avoid getting bitten when swimming in the ocean.

If you spent the summer performing, you could put together a series on how to project your voice from the stage or you could choose your favorite monologue to reenact for film.

If you spend your free time singing, you could put together a series on memorizing lyrics or how to choose music to suit your voice’s pitch.

The possibilities are practically endless!

Who do you know?

There are all sorts of ways to put together a web show, and it takes a little pressure off if you can include other people in your videos. If you know a local celebrity, like a sportscaster or weather girl, ask if they’d be willing to sit in on an interview. If you have friends who enjoy acting and performing, consider putting together a “Young Actors Talent Show” that showcases everyone’s best work. You’ll have fun working together to produce the clips before editing them with entertaining background music.

Where can you go?

There’s no law saying you have to film your video clips inside, and every community has interesting landmarks to showcase. Do a little research to discover interesting facts about your city, then plan a web show around your discoveries. A girl or boy with the talent and drive to come up with something so educational will definitely impress internet viewers.

Chances are you’re dying to be one of the hottest young actors or performers on the market. While show business can be tough, it can also be rewarding for those with true talent. So, cue up some background music and take a few minutes to discover how some of the hottest young stars are earning their household names.

Jordan Pruitt

This singer and spokesmodel has the looks and the talent to be the next big singing sensation. Not only has she already toured with acts like The Cheetah Girls and High School Musical: The Concert, her 2011 album “Don’t Lose Yourself” was written by the Jonas Brothers. You can find video clips of her performances and upcoming music on YouTube.

Emma Roberts

As part of Hollywood royalty, Julia Roberts’ niece, Emma Roberts may have had an “in” into show business; but, her acting chops prove that she has talent of her own. By delivering shining performances alongside well-known actors like Alec Baldwin and Neve Campbell, Emma Roberts earned the Young Artist Award for Best Supporting Young Actress in a Feature Film in 2007 and has continued booking major motion pictures ever since.

Dylan and Cole Sprouse

Disney sure knows how to pick ‘em! Disney alums like Miley Cyrus and Hillary Duff have certainly made their mark on the world, and twin brothers Dylan and Cole Sprouse of The Suite Life of Zack Cody are next in line for the job. These brothers may be young, but they’ve signed on with the same company that helped build the Olsen twins’ empire, and with a clothing line and book deal already in play, it’s only a matter of time before they’re regular tabloid fodder.

Elle Fanning

As Dakota Fanning’s younger sister, Elle Fanning certainly has big shoes to fill, but she’s filling them well! With lead roles in major motion pictures like Super 8 and We Bought a Zoo, Elle Fanning was nominated for five awards in 2011, winning the Film Actress of the Year Award from Young Hollywood Awards. Expect this taller, willowy sister to continue turning heads as she grows up on film and in the news.

Rico Rodriguez

Even if you don’t know Rico Rodriguez’ name, you probably know his character, Manny, from Modern Family. With a worldly air and perfect line delivery, this child star will continue to captivate crowds. It’s this skill that earned him a 2011 nomination at the Teen Choice Awards for the Scene Stealer award.

Hailee Steinfeld

If you don’t know who Hailee Steinfeld is, it’s just a matter of time. After receiving nominations for a slew of awards for her powerful performance of Mattie Ross in 2010’s True Grit, Hailee has landed roles in three upcoming films, including the role of Juliet Capulet in 2012’s Romeo and Juliet. Don’t think that’s enough to qualify her as a hot young star? She’s also the face of designer brand Miu Miu!
